outside contentBringing outside content in

Have you ever seen another edna Group that has a Flickr badge, Frapper map, ClustrMap or Teacher Tube/You Tube video displayed and wondered how the edna Group Owner did it?

The instructions are the same for most objects you wish to add to your Group. Copy the embed code provided, create a label in a main content block or create an HTML side block, go to the HTML view and paste the code in. Don't preview, just save.

But sometimes it's nice to have step by step instructions. These are provided below.

We are always on the lookout for more fun and interesting things to do in edna Groups.

So if you have any suggestions, questions or ideas on what you would like to see in edna Groups, send an email to groups@edna.edu.au

download your backupDownloading your Group backup

If you plan on closing down a Group but want to save either the Group itself or the files from it, Moodle makes it easy.

  1. Log into edna Groups and go to your Group
  2. Click on the "Files" link in the Administration menu
  3. Go to the "backupdata" folder
  4. Right click on the most recent backup of your Group and save it to your computer
edna Groups are backed up once per fortnight, which is why if you no longer need a Group, we appreciate hearing from you. Having unused Groups that are constantly backed up makes our system work harder than it needs to work.

To just download files:
  1. Log into edna Groups and go to your Group
  2. Click on the "Files" link in the Administration menu
  3. Click the boxes next to the files and folders you want to download
  4. Select "Create an .zip archive" from the "with chosen files" drop down menu
  5. Name your archive
  6. Right click on the created archive and save to your computer
