Welcome to ELY an E-Learning for Youth Network

The purpose of this site is to provide a space for sharing of information about the Australian Flexible Learning Framework Inclusive e-Learning Youth projects and the sharing of resources, links, innovations and ideas relating to the delivery of Vocational Education and Training (VET) to young people using e-learning, flexible delivery and new technologies.  This site has also been created to support anyone else from around Australia working to engage young people using e-learning or new technologies.

What's Happening with the 2007 ELY Projects

2007 Projects:

North Melbourne Institute of TAFE (Victoria): The Gen Y Social Networking trial will use a range of mobile learning technologies, MP3 players, podcasts and blogs to help enhance interaction and learning for building and construction apprentices.

West Coast TAFE (Western Australia): The Gaining Access to Employment (GATE) trial will introduce students to a range of technologies then give them the power to choose how, when and where they study. Technologies being trialed will include: blogs, podcasts, web 2.0 tools and mobile learning technologies.

South West Institute of TAFE (Victoria): The South West Youth Pod Tour trial is specifically aimed at young people who are disengaged from mainstream education. Students will produce guided tours of their local areas in MP3 and podcast formats. The trial will also help develop confidence, public speaking and presentation skills.

TAFE SA Regional (South Australia): The Nursing Pathways-for rural and remote youth trial aims to use virtual classrooms, podcasts, blogs and web 2.0 technologies to help school students in isolated locations successfully complete a nursing pathways program to prepare them for career opportunities in aged care and health support.
